A fun-filled opportunity to build team spirit using sport and inclusion, whilst also learning more about disability through an Inclusive Sport Challenge.
This away day is suitable for every company, it is a perfect way to involve staff at all levels on a memorable team building exercise away from the office. The Inclusive Sports Challenge is an opportunity to build your team and enhance their spirit using inclusiveness and sport. This is a team away day in which every kind of workplace team can get involved, and caters for all abilities and preferences.
Participants will gain knowledge about disability equality in a fun, challenging and educational way. You will be able to work on developing your interpersonal and communication skills, confidence, teamwork, leadership and problem solving abilities.
How does it work?
The day involves short fun-filled activities that get you moving, thinking, and just having a bit of fun. You will be able to learn basic wheelchair skills, whilst also enhancing your understanding in disability and inclusion. The session also includes friendly competitions in wheelchair basketball, wheelchair racing and boccia, enabling participants to learn how to play together as a team, improving your team-bond and teamworking skills.
Viewing the world from a wheelchair will give you a different perception, help you think outside the box, have fun and develop collaborative skills in a unique way.
If the session is run in East London, part of your financial contribution will go towards the London Defenders Wheelchair Basketball club, if outside East London we will work with local disability sports clubs to support their work.
